Budgie out of cage

Hello I let my budgies come out of there cage and I was just wondering if they are able to sleep out of the cage.  My other question was what is the best way to get budgie budgie back in the cage.  I have three budgies two are fully flighted and can get back in there cage on there own.  But I have another budgie that can't fly so we have to pick her up to get her in the cage what is the best way to pick her up.

Answer
It can be safe to let them sleep outside the cage if you make sure that they aren't in any danger.  As long as the room they are in is warm and closed off, and there are no animals around that will eat them, this can be done with reasonable safety, but keep an eye on things.

If you have to pick her up, cover her with a soft light towel first.  It will keep her wings in close to her body, keep her from panicking from realizing that she's going to be grabbed, and make her easier to grab without hurting or scaring her.
