birds friends for life

Question
We have two parakeets for about 5 years.  They love each
other it's very obvious.  They have each other they are not
tamed at  all.  They were given to us.  One got out and out
of the house.  How will the other one respond.  I always
said one will die without the other.  Should we buy another
one for her.

Birds that are bonded with other birds will certainly feel stress from all of the sudden losing their friend/mate. While it does not "kill" the bird left, it does add stress to them which can make a problem already there a bigger problem as stress complicates illness. Birds are flock animals by nature, if their flock is other birds, then yes, you will need another bird.
