Budgie Bird

Question
We have 2 budgie birds producing eggs.  First 2 eggs were layed on the floor of the cage a couple weeks ago.  We moved them to the breeding box, however, nothing.  When we looked into the box, both had been broken.  Today another egg arrived on the floor of the cage. Can we remove the egg and incubate it outside the cage?

Answer
Hello John,

Yes it is possible to incubate the egg, however you will be required to care for the young bird from day one which means feeding every 2 hours for the first few weeks, and then 4 times a day for a few more weeks. Most people do not have that kind of time or energy to put into a 20 dollar pet bird, which is why you won't see much information about it online or anywhere else for that matter. Best of luck!
