Black Faced lovebird is ill or not ?

Question
"Hello;
last night i bought a non hand-feed untamed black faced lovebird ( male as pet store guy told me); don't know about his age. well the problem is when i took him home i placed the cage in a quite place with a towel over it ( covering cage to make the bird comfortable) after few hrs i went to the bird and try to communicant with him by whistling softly and putting my hand near the cage her was not looking scared, than i introduced a stick to him slowly and than touched him with it softly (read on a website to do it like this)the bird was not getting very scared but a bit and was some times allowing me to touch her with the stick and some times not than i put the towel again and let him sleep for whole night. next day i wake up and saw bird was still not very active as a new bird should be in a new place he was still sleepy; feather was fluffy at times and haven't found him eating any thing ( although saw him drinking water)he was also sitting in the bottom of the cage plus saw him putting his head in wings with both feet on ground.
what i concluded for all this that the bird is sick. i contact the pet shop guy and he told me to leave the bird at his shop so that he can have a look at him, now i want your help guys should i believe the pet store guy that bird is behaving like this because of  new place and cage or should i get another bird.

Note: i am working on my english"

Answer
He may be sick, but also he may be having anxiety issues. Some birds will kinda withdraw when moved to a new home. Try hand feeding him, and offering a bit of water held close to him.

Personally, when I get a bird, I am immediately attached and wouldn't give him back, however places like petsmart & petco will take the bird to the vet if they deem him sick in a certain period of time.

Birds can freak out when moved to a new place though, he is telling you the truth about that. They do so much more often when you buy birds from pet stores, as they have been traumatized from shipping and rough handling.

Always buy your birds from reputable breeders, whose breeding pair are also their hand-tamed pets to avoid this in the future.
