Cage bottom for Lovebirds

Question
I'm having a problem with my lovebirds'housing...I've put newspaper on the bottom of the cage...and I see the ink is coming off..and covering the perches and presumably the birds themselves! And knowing how my birds play and shred (in their mouths)the paper ..they must be ingesting it also!
I'm wondering how healthy this can be?!
What are my alternatives for the cage bottom?

Hello Maureen and thank you for your questions,

Take the newspaper away the ink is toxic and can kill them! Put plain white printer or writing paper in the bottom I don't reccomend sandpaper sheets or gravel... parrots Do Not need this in there diet and it shouldnt be given to them.
