hip popping

Sometimes when my miniature horse tries to walk it seems like his hind legs or hip is popping and he drags it behind him. Sometimes its one leg or the other. Today it was both legs. This doesn't happen all the time.

Thanks for your question but I think you may need a vet to look at him. I checked my resources and haven't found anything related to hips that is common. It is possible that he has a stifle or patella condition such as locked stifle. It may be treatable (sometimes only by excercise) but you really should have it looked at. A lot depends on his age. Sorry I don't have an easy solution. Good luck and best, Toni
