QuestionWe have a beautiful six month old pinto colt and so far there is no sign of his testicles. I have been told that in a male mini they may not descend until he is anywhere from 1-2 years of age, particularly if he is not around mares. That seems rather strange. Is that accurate? What can you tell me about the subject.

Thanks for the question. You have been told correctly per my research. For some reason, minis sometimes drop later, particularly the smaller minis. I had a 28" stallion who did not fully descend both until he was nearly 2. Hope this helps. Best, Toni
