hi...

i was wondering how to go about breaking my mini in for a small child ..My mini a 4 yr old gelding and can be boistress and can have relli bad TANTRUMS. He hasnt been tought much and obviously just want the quickest option only,i have a really slow method but find my self not haveing enough time.So any simple tip needed.

He would make a lovely little riding pony and has so much potencial to da so,and still is very young and therefore i would like him to get a lot out of life.

S i hope you can help cos i really dont have a lot of spare time so i no it will still take longer.but i have thought about ways of going about it .HELP YOU CAN HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!!

Hi Charlotte and thanks for your question. Unfortunately there are really no short-cuts to "starting" any horse. Horses of any size take a lot of time and a lot of patience. If you don't have the time to invest, I suggest you take him to a professional trainer. I have used one to teach mine to drive. You should probably figure on at least 60 days if you want to be able to have your son ride him. Check with your local 4-H Agent, miniature horse association, etc. for help in finding a trainer. It's going to take time either way, just maybe not your time. Sorry- no easy answer to this one. Perhaps you should sell him and buy one that is already trained? Just a thought. Best, Toni
