We recentally were given a 3 yr old sorrel miniature horse who isnt the best at manners and when My childrenwork with her she kicks, and acts up, We have been offered a 11 yr old mare dapple Gray to trade our 3 yr oldfor.they both have AMHR papers . The 11yr old know hos to drive and has been in horse shows before, Is a 11 yr old mini to old? which to do you think would be better for a 9 year old to take into the 4-H show ring? thank you Heidi
AnswerHi Heidi and thanks for your question. All things being equal conformation and health-wise, I would opt for the 11YO. Minis can live to be 30 years old and it sounds as though she has had lots of training which is great for kids starting out. My only question is if she is as good as they say- whats their motiovation for trading? Thanks and best, Toni
