I have never heard of using peat moss. My main concern would be the potential for respiratory problems, as with any bedding. You have to have several inches and if it is dry and powdery it might be inhaled. I prefer sawdust which is cheap and at least around here, plentiful. I can get a pick-up load for $20 which lasts awhile. You may want to check with your vet. Hope this helps. Best, Toni
