Questionhello, why arab horses are suitable for endurance racing? in what way they are stronger?
AnswerThe Arabian horse, one of the oldest of breeds, was bred for centuries in arid condition on the desert. Though part of the "family' of its owners, it was bred for endurance, as it carried its owners into battle and were ridden long long distances because of the Arabs nomadic existence.
The breed has one less lumbar vertebrae, which enables it to be a great weight carrier. It also rarely has leg, back, or hoof problems.
Most of its gaits are very smooth, some tend to think the trot is choppy.
I have always admired the breed and enjoy working with Arabians. They are intelligent and sensitive. I think a trainer has to be aware of that, and not ever treat them harshly...( nor should you with any horse).
