i am kinda a beginner, but i have ridden before,and i dont have a horse, but im going to get one soon,i was wondering if you knew what kinda horse would be right for barrel racing,trail riding,and other easy going things. and i was also wondering if you could give me a link to a site that would anser questions such as:what does it mean to have a horse that can heel or head, whats the difference between western and english riding,and etc. plese help......and THANKS!

Hi Kat,
         There is not one correct breed of horse that will do what you want to do. What you want is a horse trained in that discipline. Since this is your first horse I would look for a horse that is over the age of seven. If you want to barrel race then you will want to ride Western. As with anything start with ground work with your horse.
