braided reins
braided reins
hello sir, what are the uses of braided reins? are they suitable for racing? actually, in racing, we use canvas reins. so, do canvas reins provide more grip to our hands than the braided reins?

Answer
(Not Sir)  how about MS.  (smile)

Your picture shows very nice reins. We have leather braided reins in the States for riding hunters. They do provide a better grip. They are very hard to keep really clean...we use a toothbrush to scrub close to the braiding.

I would think they they do give a better grip than canvas reins. We also have rubber coated reins which are all right for cross country, but I think are not able to give a fine feel in the hand.

I prefer just smooth reins for dressage.
