Question
deep ribcage
deep ribcage
hello ma'am, does this horse has a deep ribcage? i believe that this horse is lacking balance in the body frame since length from poll to withers is too long than the distance from withers to croup. am i right?

Answer
Hello,

I think basically the conformation of this horse is not bad at all. I like his topline and his underline, and pretty much his overall balance. His neck is too thin, making his head look proportionally too large, but I think this may be a result of care and work  (training?)

He looks MAYBE as if he is used a little incorrectly. (?) How old is he and what is he used for? I would like to see him correctly lunged and ridden, some CORRECT connected lower level dressage work, and maybe a bit of a change in his diet.

He has the look of a race horsein some ways and maybe that is what he is...but the lack of musculature through his neck concerns me a bit. That is what I would like to strengthen.

I do not think the length of poll to withers is too long, or from withers to croup...I would just like to see him after concentrated conditioning through exercise and food.

Remember, when you are using a horse, "You are either making him better or breaking him down."
