Question
My husband and I rescue abused and unwanted horses, we saved one, a 3 yr.+ all white mare with a small lt.brown patch on her back, Sara has two light blue eyes, one with cataracts, and were told that she is deaf. She is. Is this due to her being all white? I have been told yes & no. and will her unborn baby be deaf? she was pregnant when we saved her. She is very friendly, thinks she a lap dog, we don't ever plan on having her broke, just to have her live out the remainder of her long years here on the ranch with the rest of our thumbless rescues!

Answer
Hello,
I have met blind horses but never a deaf one. I have known several all white horses who were not deaf and I do not think it should affect the baby. It is a really wonderful thing you are doing, you are an inspiration!
Best Wishes with your new family
