riding ponies tough or horses tough

hello, is riding ponies tough or horses tough? my friend told me that riding a pony is tough since they are small in size. what happens if we ride a small pony, dont we have balance on it?

I am quite tall, so I would pick a taller horse to be in proportion, but many people ride ponies
quite happily and successfully.

If you are short, it would be better to pick a smaller horse or large pony. Your legs should drape over the widest spring of the horse's rib cage.
