AnswerI still do not like to take the chance of overloading a horse.
If a horse's back is damaged from too much weight or a rider riding poorly, it can be a permanent injury.
You need to add the weight of the saddle in your calculations.Some breeds such as Icelandic horses. Morgans, Quarter horses and Arabians are supposed to be able to carry heavier riders, as do horses that are part Draft horse.
I would not want to expect the horse to carry more than about 1/5 of the weight to be on the safe side.
If you are a balanced rider, it is easier for the horse to carry weight than an unbalanced rider...(dead weight).
