QuestionHi Christine!
It's been awhile and thought I would send you a quick note and update you on Bambi.
I found a wonderful natural horsemanship trainer in my area and took Bambi there in November for 60 days of training and lessons for me. Best money I ever spent! :) This trainer changed my life and Bambi is doing awesome. She and I have really bonded over the past few months and what a difference it's made! I no longer use a bit - Just a rope halter and reins and no spurs. Taking the bit out of her mouth was the key. She is relaxed, listens to my ques and has become a dream to ride. After the 60 days of training, I decided to continue to board her at the training facility as there are miles of trails to ride on.
We went on our first trail ride last weekend. Bambi was SO EXCITED! You could literally tell she was happy to go. She was a little jumpy at first, (new road to the trail) and I had a little bit of an effort to keep her attention. But once we got started and she was on the trail, she relaxed and was great. We even cantered at two spots along the way and man did she want to go! I felt her kick into 5th gear at one point and had to hang on.
It was great and I can't wait to go again. Thanks for all your help in the past and I hope all is well!
AnswerHi Susan
Thank you so very very much for the update, and all I can say is that you and Bambi did the hard work, I sort of pointed out the trail for you both!
So very happy to hear about the success of the new trainer and the methods employed, no spurs, and bitless as well............. thats the best news I have had in a long time!
I hope you both continue to do well, a match made in heaven and now you know when you have that very special bond with your horse, then the problems are just blips in the road........... you two have come such a long long way in such a short time, it makes my heart sing with joy!
Happy riding the pair of you, may the trails be kind and the road full of happy surprises for you both, and many many happy years together for the pair of you.
Christine xx
PS My new little baby horse arrives soon, can;t wait to start a while new adventure with a him....... happty days and years ahead of us both!
