Question
i have an eleven month conemara colt about ten hands high i also have a fourteen hands high fillie what age should i get the colt gelded as i dont want them to breed thanks

Answer
Hi Martin,

Depending on the weather in your area at the moment, now is a good age to geld your colt.  If you wait until it is warm out, there will be lots of flies which can be quite unpleasant for the horse.  You should contact your vet to have an exam done on the colt to make sure everything is normal and he's ready for gelding.

Good luck!
