Question
I have a mare we bought back in Feb. And they had told us she had a colt but he was 6 months so 2 months have passed and her nipples are still big. But nothing comes out and ahe has no discharge.
Will they ever go down?

Answer
Hi Marissa,

If it is just the nipples that are still large, there is nothing to worry about.  A lot of mares will have larger than normal nipples permanently, once they have nursed a foal.  If the nipples are not hard and cracking, it is totally normal.
