is my snake sick

we just bought a 5ft red tail boa.the guy brought her to us in an pillow case and when we took her out she was hissing.she hissed all the way home.we put her in her tank and now she has bubbles around her mouth.she does not seem to have trouble breathing.could this be she was that mad

Hi Rebecca,

I hate to say this, but it sounds like you bought a sick snake. Bring her to the vet immediately. They can give her a shot of antibiotic to help heal her respiratory infection.

You will find that boas are a very aggressive species of snake. They will adapt to you, but I guarantee you will get bit several time before figuring out the best way to get a hold of her.
