Question
QUESTION: my ball python hasn't been hungry lately and the last week she's been hidden inside her fountain, laying in the water and she hasn't budged. is she okay? is she going be okay? is it normal for ball pythons to do this right now 'at this time? please respond thank you

ANSWER: Some snakes do act oddly when winter sets in. I have had my 2 BPs go months at a time without eating for no apparent reason. I don't see the size of your snake listed, but unless she goes more than a month without eating, I would not be concerned. I can't say this is normal behavior, but if your husbandry is correct, it is not that odd that a snake becomes dormant for a time.

QUESTION: its not only that, its that she's been laying in the water hiding and hasn't came out of the water is that alright? or should i say healthy for a younger ball python?

Answer
It is a little odd that she is staying in the water. I still would not be concerned too much. Go ahead and pull her out of the hide and make her move around a bit, then put her back in the enclosure. She should be good. Keep trying to get her to eat as well.
