Boa or Python for me?(cont.)

Question
QUESTION: I didn't know how else to continue, adding to the question seemed to involve a lot of rules... Columbian Boa is looking like a winner. Are they rare? Come in lots of colors? Viper boas look interesting. I like the small length, but the color range seems kinda limited. Not to sound totally shallow, I would love a brown and browner snake just as much as a creamy grey one, with black and charcoal saddles. But it's a big investment both in money and years, so I want him perfect. I think I became obsessed with color when I saw my first tiny 2ft tiger retic. One look in her orange eyes, and I was done...Until I read her care sheet. 23-30 ft growth expectancy?! Ok, I'll just go ahead and get that elephant I've always wanted too, haha... I want a boy if I want smaller in a lot of snake breeds correct? I am not closed on the boa or python thing. I'd love other suggestions, you seem to get what I'm looking for. Also, have you heard of a "Hoggs Island Boa". I saw something that said they only get 4-5 ft? ... I live in L.A., the west San Fernando Valley. It will be a while before I do any actual purchasing. I'm thinking of a christmas present for mom dad, grandma and boyfriend to chip in on, because I'd like a really nice floor to ceiling enclosure. Or are those really more for tree snakes? And finally, could I have two boas of a different kind together? Like an emerald tree (not that I'd want one, I've seen them be pretty vicious) and a red-tail. For a random example? Thanks so much for your help! All the pet spots I've gone too have seemed... Less than knowledgeable about smaller breed boas...

ANSWER: OK, Columbian boas grow to 10 ft plus.  CENTRAL America boas are the ones I was talking about only growing to 6 feet.  Hogg Island Boas do also stay small (I forgot about those) and are more orangish in color.

I would not recommend mixing species.  Two of the same species together is fine as long as you separate to feed.

I could sell you a Central American Boa for around $65, shipping to CA would probably be close to the same amount though.

Hogg Island usally run $125-200 and dwarf retics are several hundred depending on which one you want.

I'd recommend LLL Reptiles in CA, they have a wide selection and stand behind what they sell.

QUESTION: I would be willing to pay that much for a Central American Boa. How old? Should I give you my email on here, or does the site provide you with a link to my personal email?

Answer
Summer, you realize that between the cost of the snake and the shipping we're talking about $125-130 right?  If so, no I do not have your personal email or anything like that.  I will give you mine: bnrcom@wildblue.net

Shoot me an email on that and we can work out the details.

Thanks, BPC
