Question
I have a Repti-glo florescent light and Sun-glo basking light for my beardie. The Repti-glo is 2 mths old and the basking light is a day old. Normally I turn the lights out at night but I have left the Repti-glo on the last few nights. And I figured since i have had her for 11 yrs I must be doing things right. What baby food do you suggest as I'd like to try it. I give her food coated in calcium every second feed.

Answer
Hello Joy,

The Reptiglo, is it an 8 or a 10?
If it is an 8, it is ok, but the 10, is not very good.  Can you get the Reptisun 10 tube bulb or the Arcadia D3 12% tube bulb up there instead?  The Reptiglo 10 tube bulb does not emit the proper UVB wavelength of UVB which is not conducive to D3 synthesis.
Sure, 11 years is amazing, great job!
The calcium supplementation sounds fine.  Maybe try some chicken or turkey baby food, along with squash baby food or sweet potato baby food.
Maybe a new UVB will help her process the UVB better.  Does she seem to have any signs of metabolic bone disease?  Have you used any other types of UVB previously?
She must be from excellent stock!
Please send pictures when you can.

Let me know how she is doing.
