jewelrd curly tailed lizards

Question
A friend of mine was looking at my lizard and when I opened the cage to change the water the lizard jumped on my friend and she grabed his tail it came off will my lizard be ok and will his tail grow back?

thank you for your question.
Like many geckos, curly tailed lizards can drop their tail at will. So your lizard will be okay. Keep an eye on the wound, but I don't think that it will become inflamed, that would be unusual. The taal will grow back, but not as long as the old one and probably in a slightly different colour and different looking scales.
