Question
My son has a Beardie (female) who has been very loving until the past 3 days.
For the past 3 days she has been very skitzy and jumpy and has tried to bite
and even jumped at and try to bite us when we go to change out her water
bowl or clean out her tank.  Prior to this I would hold her everyday and pet
her.  She is shedding but she shed before and wasn't like this.  She is not
eating much at all.  A few worms only every other day maybe.  What could it
be?

Answer
That would depend on how old she is.  If she's 6 months old, it could be the raging hormones of puberty.  If she is older, it could be breeding season, or her shed is itchier than normal and it's annoying her, or she may not be feeling well.  I would rule out the last with a checkup at the vet's, then a lovely baby warm bath and a soft toothbrush for a gentle scrub that might sooth an itchy hide.  If it's puberty, don't be intimidated by her, use a tea towel to protect your hands and pick her up and hold her anyway,  let her know you are the mama, and there is nothing she can do about it.  Only when she is calm will she be allowed back in her "territory".
