Question
QUESTION: I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of supplies i should get for my Florida soft shell turtle, the only things r that it has to be from pet co and my budget is $75 not including the $ for the tank/habitat (but i still need edvise on which habitat to get) Could u help me?

         P.S it's not urgent
         (sorry about spelling)

ANSWER: Hi Nicole, Florida softshells are very appealing turtles and the babies are fairly easy to care for but I hope you are aware that they get rather big! The males get to be the size of a dinner plate and the females get much bigger then that. They also have a pretty good bite!
Most aquatic turtles have the same basic requirements. You will need a filter, and a heat lamp to provide a basking area. Soft shells like to lay buried in sand on the tank bottom so a layer of natural sand should be provided as well. There should be a surface under the basking light that they can crawl out onto, like a piece of wood or cork.
Because they get large I would try to get the largest habitat in your budget so that you don't have to keep upgrading the size that often.
You might also keep an eye on the newspaper adds or craigslist online for used aquariums and equipment. A lot of people start keeping fish but soon realize that it's not for them and sell the almost-new equipment.

This is a good care sheet on Florida soft shells.

QUESTION: Hey it's me again i'm thinking of getting a bearded dragon and whanted to know if you had any edvice on that

ANSWER: Hi Nicole, Bearded dragons make excellent pets, they have a lot of personality and tolerate being handled very well. There is a lot of available info and products to help you look after them and they are captive bred in large numbers. I would suggest getting a young one but not a new hatchling, one that is 2 to 3 months old would be better. You will eventually need a 40 or 50 gallon tank for the adult  enclosure.
Here are two links about their care, the first is very basic just to give you an idea of what you and the dragon will need and the second is very detailed.

QUESTION: Thank you so much for your last edvice i'm getting my beardies in a week or two (i'm still trying to find out as much as i can befor i get them) but any way, a friend of mine was wondering how to breed firebellied toads because she has 2 and is 100% positive one is a male and the other is female and the male even calls at night o ya and she already knows she needs 4-6 inches of water in her tank and a plant or something in the water. Will u help me

Thanks Nicole

Answer
Hi Nicole, The breeding season for fire bellies is in the spring so your question is very well timed. The frogs are triggered to breed by the change in season. Moving gradually from  cooler temperatures to slightly warmer temperatures with longer daylight hours will cue the males to start frequently calling.
If your friend keeps them slightly cool now they should respond to the slightly warmer temp. and longer days of April and May. The tadpoles (and froglets) have to be separated from the adults. The tadpoles are basically treated like fish until they morph. I've linked a couple sites with more info.
