driftwood

Question
I have recently found some driftwood branches for my bearded dragon cage.They are very large branches so I am soaking them in the tub in bleach water. Once this process is complet I plan on rinsing them several times with fresh water. My question is once they have dried in the sun can I brush them with water based polyurethane to help seal them. Is this OK?

I wouldn't use the polyurethane as this may cause an infection due to the chemicals.  To really get the full cleaning I would bake them in a oven at 300 degrees on  cookie sheet for about 10 to 15 minutes.  Hope this helps. I also have a free mini eBook available at my site if you'd like one.
