Question
Hello,
I have four female adult leopard geckos. Last night I was cleaning the cage when I set the top back on it fell into the cage and hit one of my geckos. When I looked her tail was shacking back and forth really fast, she walked in to one of her hiding spots and just sat there. I kept my eye on her and her tail slowly stop shaking. Then I saw her kind a nipping at it. It didn't brake of, but then again I don't know if it hit her tail. What should I do, because the vet that works with geckos is gone for a week.

Answer
Hi Danica, she should be ok. When Leopard Geckos shake their tails it is usually a threatening or hunting behavior. She may have just been threatening you if it looked like she was trying to make it rattle. Keep an eye on it and if it comes off let me know.

But it may just be that she was scared, shaking their tail is a defense mechanism and she was probably just a little freaked out.

Give her some time to settle down and relax and she should be fine. If any weird behavior starts showing up let me know.

Good luck
