warts under Beardies Tail

Question
I have a year and a half year old Bearded Dragon.
Yesterday I noticed some bumps under his tail that look
like warts.  They are not random, they look like they are patterned.  There are exactly 12 (6 on each side) in pairs
of two starting on his upper thigh area.  He's also been
acting weird and eating less.  He has been acting like he's
trying to get out of his tank and his color changes from
the normal dark grey to pale yellow a few times a day.  I'm
pretty worried is there any advice you can give?

thanks

Answer
Hello Cassandra,

Do they look like this?

If so, it is normal.  He is maturing & you have just noticed the darker waxier buildup that have filled in the pores.
It is now breeding season, or coming up on it which means, he will be black bearding, & head bobbing more because his hormones are elevated for a few months.
He will entertain you for sure.  He will also eat a little less too as he is more interested in mating.  Don't worry, this phase will subside.  Just spend more time with him, & he will eventually calm down for you.
Is your setup all correct with proper UVB lighting, & proper temps, etc?  If you would like to review all of that, we can.  Just let me know.
