Breeding my bearded dragons

Question
hello, about a few weeks back my bearded dragons were ready to mate (they are the correct age and have everything they need, nothing is wrong) my male and female both wanted to and the time of season would be now and then when i tried to breed them. a few weeks back i had to separate them because my female was becoming annoyed and getting aggressive with my male, he did get really close to mating with her once. But now she just plainly doesn't want to mate with him, what could be wrong? is she pregnant, doesn't want to mate anymore, i don't really know. (she hasn't showed any types of digging and hasn't grown any size in the stomach area, it was about last month, at the end of the month).

Answer
Hi Joe,
Your female just may not want to be bred..it happens. She may not have been ready to be bred, even though she is at least two yrs old(I hope), she just might not be old enough.  She may also be one that needs to have a period of brumation to be bred.Sometimes nature actually does rule and many times we nor anyone can figure out why.
They also may have mated and you just didn't see it.  The females can hold the sperm for quite a long time....months actually so when he bred her(if he did) she may not have been ready at the time to form eggs.  Give it time, she still may form eggs, which can still be fertile.
