Question
Hello Toni!

Today while mowing we came across a baby bunny.  I would say he is a little over a week old.  He has fur and of course his eyes are open.  We figure we mowed over it's "house" and just couldn't help but bring it up here to our house to help it.  Do you have any clue on what I should do in order to keep the lil' thing alive.  I got a little bottle and some milk....haven't fed him yet....Mom says I should just let it calm down first.  But, I did put a little water and some lettuce in the box w/ him.  Any suggestions would be great!

Answer
Hi Michelle,

Put the baby rabbit right back where you found it. If its eyes are open it is probably around 2 weeks old, maybe older. It WILL NOT make a good pet. Domestic rabbits have been bred for years to create good pets. They have completely different nutritional needs and instincts. The baby rabbit will fend for itself and probably find its family. It will be much better off back in the wild where it belongs.

Hope this Helps
Toni
