Question

tucker bunny
i have a 5 year mini lop male that is fixed. he has the run of the kitchen but is free to roam in the den and living room twice a day for long periods. just recently i found that he is wetting by his food and water dish in the kitchen. what can i do to get him to stop. he has a litter box in the cage and outside the cage in the kitchen and he does use them. but seems to want to pee on the floor too.

Answer
Hi Suzanne,

Tucker is such a cute bunny.  Anytime there is a change in behavior a rabbit should be examined by a vet.  Often times they can have urinary infections that can lead to not using the litter box.  It could also be that he needs some re-training.  If you can get him examined by a vet and determine nothing is wrong you may have to work with him on his litter habits.  You are better off asking one of the experts that deals solely with house pets.  I would recommend Ms. Dana Krempels or Mr. Lee Meyer.

Sorry I can't be of further assistance.
