Question
Hi,
I have a dutch bunny. she is about 5 month's old. three weeks ago I had given her a bath with special formulated bunny shampoo. A couple days later,i noticed her right eye was very red and inflamed . a few days later i noticed there was a white squiggily line in the pupil. A few days after it looked like it cleared up a little  but the  while line was stil there and every day I see it, its still there and is in some different position. As of now its like a while ring around her pupil. as a matter of fact her puple's are two different sizes. did the bunny shampoo cause this? I'm afraid its some type of ring  worm. My mom doesnt want 2 bring her to the vet because she thinks she's gonna have to spend like $400 dollars for one visit. I dont want my bunny to go blind or die. I <3 her very much. If you can, can you please tell me what it is and how it can be stopped or how to make it go away?
                                      Thanks again!

Answer
Tracey, please go back to All Experts and contact Dr. Dana Krempels. She is a veterinarian expert and will answer your question. (She is also under 'rabbits'. I have never washed a rabbit, not in 30 years of raising over 5000 rabbits, and don't know about the effects of the soap. Dutch do have common 'mosaic' spots in their eyes, but this doesn't sound like that..She should be able to assist, and I have contacted her to tell her you'd be emailing her. Good luck!
