Question
Hi! I am a pround new owner of a rabbit. The only problem is i dont know alot about them. My bunny was found in a box outside of the pet store i work at. His teeth were so crooked he couldnt eat. So after he was cleaned up i decided to adopt him and now i have a rabbit that i dont know the age of(we think he is young), or type or what is normal. People who own animals at the pet store say that i should get him neutar but i dont exactly have all the money at the moment to get him done, exspecially when my vet told me it would be $173. If you can I would like to know what are the advantages as well as the disadvantages of neutaring my rabbit. I would also like to know beside wood blocks how to keep my bunnys teeth from getting so long and any other information i should know about rabbits.THANKYOU! Appreciated greatly, Brittney

Answer
Hi Brittney,
Neutering is a brilliant idea, it helps rabbit lead a long happy life. There will be no aggressive behaviour, territorial behaviour or spraying. He will be calmer and easier to handle, easier to litter train and can be easily paired with a female bunny without ending up with hundreds! Downfalls are the very small risk with anasthetic and thats it! Feed plenty of hay to keep teeth down or you can get them regularly trimmed at the vets.
