QuestionI have a brown/grey american bunny. She stays outside in a metal cage and I went outside today and noticed a place she had been scratching at. It was on her back and i was a hole! it was a very clean-cut hole and it was small. it almost looked like a bbgun hole. (but its not).i let her out to play and she seemed just fine jumping a kicking. we havent taken her to the vet but i was wondering if you could give me some insight on what this might be.
AnswerDear Ashley,
If she's an outside bunny, she's at risk for warbles--the larvae of botfly encysting under her skin. Check the hole and see if there is a bump/cyst under it. If so, it's likely a warble, and should be treated by an experienced rabbit vet:

Without seeing the lesion, that's my best guess. But I'd certainly take her to a good vet for positive diagnosis and treatment, as necessary.
Hope that helps!
