Question
hi, i was wandering if you could help me. I went to feed my rabbits yesterday and was faced with a shock that there were little ones in the huutch ,we were unsure of the sexes,  there was a dead kit beside the food bowl , i instantly removed it , and then found 5 healthy looking kits insid the bedroom bit . I have read that they are more fertile straight after birth , but seeing as i didnt know she was pregnant what do i do with the kits she has already had and what do i do with male . thank u x

Answer
Hi Kim,  You'll want to remove the buck as soon as possible, does can be fertile again within days of giving birth.  As far as the babies go, make sure the mom has plenty to eat and drink and let her care for them if she will.  You'll rarely see her paying any attention to them, as a doe will ignore them except for feeding them once a day.  As long as they have round bellies and are wiggling around and feel warm to the touch, they're getting plenty to eat.  Try to keep them together in the nest by building up the area around it with hay ro straw, and enjoy watching them grow!  Best wishes.
