my friend has a golden hamster, would it be alright to put them together? the hamster is a female and is  older.... and why do guinea pigs go to the bathroom mainly around water bottle?

Do not put hamsters in with guinea pigs, or hamsters in with other hamsters ever. I have hamsters myself and even the calmest hamsters can bite without warning, I recently had that happen to me, my friendliest hamster just turned around and tore up my entire index finger. Hamsters also eat different food and can escape from guinea pig size cages. Sometimes you may think that a guinea pig is going to the bathrooom by the waterbottle, but in fact the waterbottle might be leaking, especially if you see the whole waterbottle go down after only a day. Other than that if the pig is using the restroom near the waterbottle it is most likely because that is the corner he chose to urinate in, guinea pigs do like to stay tidy most of the time.
