Question
My son and I recently adopted two GPs. I was told by two pet store clerks, that we should only feed them the plain pellets until they reach 6 months of age. This means no fruit, vegies, timothy hay, or the party mix (pellets) until then. Is this true? They also mentioned that the piggie may get a symptom. I forget the name but it was something like "wet..." I just can't remember what it was.

Answer
I've always offered mine fresh veggies from the time they could eat them and have never had a problem.  The problem they mentioned to you is "wet tail".  If they get it you will know as their tail will appear wet at all times and it is painful for them.
