Fighting Guinea Pigs

Question
We were wondering if you can help us - our guinea pigs are two brothers, but one keeps attacking the other.

We have had one castrated on the advice of the vet, but has not stopped the attacks.

Currently we have them in seperate hutches, but want to put them back together.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Hi

Unfortunately, neutering doesnt usually cure aggressive behaviour so you were given bad advice there.

Whether you will be succesful in reuniting the brother depends on whether any blood was drawn by the attacker, if it was it is very unlikely they will bond. If not, you could give both pigs a bath in antibacterial small animal shampoo and try putting them on a neutral surface. This has worked for me before.
