Yapping/Squeaking

i have just bought an 8week old guinea pig (piggy) when i pet him or pick him up he makes a quiet yapping/squeaking sound it sounds like hes crying almost i am very worried he dosnt bite even eats out of my hand what do you think this noise could make i would appreciate any advise please email me icpruleuk@hotmail.com thanks in advance.

Hello Alex,

Young pups tend to be quite vocal, especially when joining a new household. If he is alone, he may be calling out trying to find a friend. Guinea Pigs are social animals and get lonely when there are no other piggies around. I'll send you a link that describes Guinea Pig noises and actions very well and should be of great help for figuring out what your piggy is telling you.
