QuestionQUESTION: hi andy me again can u please tell me at what age do you have to separate guinea pigs i was told 4 weeks but after reading some questions and answers they say 3 weeks. when gizmo had her first 14 months ago i was told 6 weeks from the pet shop this time they told me 4 weeks
thanks
ps gizmo had 2 girls and 2 boys so i now have 6 and they are so cute
ANSWER: Hi Julie
Its best to remove boys at 3 weeks, but dont fully rehome them until 6 weeks. Males can be sexually mature from 3 weeks!
Females can stay with the mother as long as you like.

QUESTION: the baby female that i told you about (bold patches). my 4 year old grandson has had a bad reaction so i think the baby may have a skin disorder so what now.
ps grandson has never a a problem with my pigs which i have had for nearly 2 years
AnswerHi Julie
The only real option is to consult a vet as it all depends what the skin condition is. Usually, human reaction is only temporary itchiness but if your grandson's reaction to this is more severe you need to get it checked by the vet so medication can be given.
