Question
How do you ween guinea pigs, or does the mother do that on her own?

Answer
Hello Claudia,

Just seperate them at 3 weeks that's all. If you leave the girls with mom (the boys should always be removed at 3 weeks because the start becoming sexually mature at that age), she will wean them herself. I always removed all pups from mom at three weeks because usually by then mom is ready for a break from nursing babies. They start eating hard food shortly after birth and by three weeks they are just fine on solid food and really don't require special feeding except that they should have alphalpha hay instead of timothy.
