mating

hi,
i think i wrote you before i was thinking of mating my guinea pig. she is 7 months old. i was wondering how to introduce the   male to the female and how long they are supposed to be kept together and many more breeding facts. thanks

Place the male and female in the same cage, the male will most likely chase the female for a whole day, but just ignore this behavior. Leave them together for at least 4 weeks, but as long a 60 days, just remove him before the female gives birth. Females go into heat about every 13 days, on this day you might see the male chase the female much more and actually mate. Most female have their babies on day 68, most guinea pigs have 3 babies.
