my hamster keeps chewing his cage

Lately my hamster is always chewing the bars on the hamster cage, is there anyway I can stop him doing this as surely it's not very good for his teeth or is it? I have also noticed his tooth is a little chipped. I do leave out those wood things for him to chew but he likes the bars more, any idea? Thanks

      I am not sure why hamsters like to chew on their cages so much, but they do. This is un-normal, but make sure to keep a close eye on him so he is not hurting his teeth or mouth. There really isn't any way to stop him from chewing on the bars.
