what is wrong

my hamster is about six months old, I have noticed it has developed some sores all over its body, some look like scabs, others open wounds.She lives alone. Can this problem be treated?

Hi Sarah,

    These sound like cysts. Hamsters do get these sometimes. They will usually break open on their own, scab over and go away.
    If any of them should happen to look infected (redness, swollen or drainage coming from the sore), then she should be seen by a vet.
