QuestionHi Kelly i got two hamsters from the same letter and i just found that theyve had babbys do i seperate the male from the female
AnswerHi Michael,
It depends on what type of hamsters you have: Do you have Syrian hamsters or Dwarf hamsters? Syrian hamsters are the larger, more common type of hamster. Here's a picture for an example:

Dwarf hamsters are smaller, and they're typically either brown-and-white or gray-and-white. Picture:

If you have Syrian hamsters, you should place the male in another cage immediately. Syrian hamsters are solitary animals, and they will fight violently if kept together in the same cage (even males and females, eventually).
If you have Dwarf hamsters, the Dwarf father will actually help take care of the babies. However, he will mate with the mother almost immediately after she has given birth. So, if you don't want any more baby hamsters, you should place the male Dwarf in another cage.
Good luck with your new arrivals, and if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask :)
Kelly
