Cage Problems...?

Question
Hi, I have a Syrian hamster that is currently living in a crittertrail cage(picture: http://www.futurepets.com/images/j210/sp60518.jpg) and I'm not sure if it is getting to small for my hamster. It was fine when I first got her, at about 1 month old but now shes already 3 months old, its getting hard for her to climb in the "petting zone" because the tube connecting to it is so small. I'm not sure if it's because the cage was originally made for dwarf hamsters, since I've seen people house dwarf hamsters in this kind of cage. So I just wanted to check if the cage was also Syrian hamsters, or if not, I will have to move her out to another cage. Thanks!I appreciate your time.

Answer
Those type of cages are actually a bit too small for a full grown syrian hamster but pet stores and companies that make cages like that don't really care and encourage you to keep your animal in it. Anything less then a 10 gallon aquarium size space is really too little. You can safely keep your hamster in this setup, but if you really feel bad about it aquariums are the perfect cage for hamster. They have plenty of open space for you to customize your layout for your particular hamster's enjoyment.
