Growths on my Chinese Dwarf Hamsters

I recently purchased two Chinese Dwarf Hamsters about a month ago.  One developed a growth on its nose, causing one eye to often tear.  This morning I noticed that the other hamster also has developed a growth on its nose.  I use an aquarium for a cage with Aspen bedding.  Could something in the cage be causing the growths?

Hello Maureen,
you know they could be digging into the aspen bedding and causing them to have sores. I would try a softer bedding like carefrsh or soft sorbent bedding. I use carefresh bedding and I love it. Try a new bedding and see how that works. Good luck :).
