Question
today i was putting Ray Ray my hamster in his ball and when i got to the top of it, he jumped out of my hands, i have a ferret ball not a hamster ball because Ray Ray is spoiled, but i want to know if that could hurt him badly, but after it happened he starter running like nothing happened.and how do i know if he is healthy,he is a teddy bear hamster!!!

Answer
Hi Brooke,

thanks very much for your question.

Firstlt, i would just like to point out that although you call your hamster a 'teddy bear' hamster and the place you brought him from probably said he was a 'teddy bear' hamster too, he is actually a long haired Syrian Hamster.  'Teddy bear' is just a made up name which people label hamsters with to make them sell better or for more money.

Syrian hamsters are fairly sturdy animals and can usually withstand occational small falls pretty well.

Your hamster should be ok but i would just keep a close eye on him for a few days to make sure he isnt walking funny or flinching when you touch certain parts of his body.

Hope i have been helpful, please let me know if you need any further info.

Regards,

Tammy
